LAST HOUSE ON THE BEACH, THE (DVD) |
Prosperi, Franco |
A trio of bank robbers drive to a remote beach house where they plan to hide from the authorities after a successful heist. Things don't go exactly as planned though since the house is currently being occupied by an attractive nun and five teenage girls who are practicing a play under her supervision. he schoolgirls become the objects of violent torture games, vicious rapes and eventually murder by the evil men. The horrified nun renounces her teachings with the remaining girls, seek bloody vengeance. Obviously inspired by Wes Craven's Last House on the Left, The Last House on the Beach's director Franco Prosperi also succeeds in making another mean-spirited, sickening rape/revenge flick that shouldn't be viewed if you are already feeling a bit depressed. Uncut and Letterboxed. |

MEET HIM AND DIE (DVD) |
Prosperi, Franco |
A robbery goes terribly wrong for a hapless criminal when he goes to knock off a jewelry store. Upon entering the store, the steel shutters immediately slam down and lock him inside until the police arrive. He is later sent to jail, but it doesn't take long before he befriends a big time crime boss inside. The two execute a successful break out and we soon find out that we don't really know the true background of these criminals or what is really motivating them. Franco Prosperi (Last House on the Beach) directs this revenge themed crime film with Ray Lovelock and Elke Sommer. With its clever plot twists, fist fights, motorcycle and car chases, this rare entry in poliziotteschi genre is an entertaining one. Also known as Pronto ad uccidere. UNCUT and WIDESCREEN |
