AMERICAN TIGER (DVD) Martino, Sergio Olympic gymnast Mitch Gaylord stars as a student who is putting himself through school as a part-time rickshaw puller in Miami. He runs deep into trouble when he falls for the slutty charms of a ravishing topless dancer and gets involved with some sex tape antics which leads him into getting framed for the murder of the son of a wealthy televangelist. Trying to clear his name, the rickshaw driver pursues a trail of bizarre clues which leads him to an eccentric, elderly Chinese woman. The woman is actually a witch who wants an old relic that the televangelist has in his possession and she warns the young rickshaw that he is part of a timeless war between the forces of good and evil that is being played out. When the televangelist (Halloween's Donald Pleasence) is revealed as a diabolical fake, the young rickshaw must outwit the preachers fanatical assassin (Hands of Steel's Daniel Greene) and finally face the awesome,unholy power of the Reverend himself in a climatic showdown. 1990

CATACLYSM (DVD) McGowan, Tom & Tallas, Greg & An author takes his surgeon wife on a vacation to Las Vegas after she experiences some psychedelic nightmares about God and the Devil. There she is hypnotised during a Vegas act and has a flashback to Nazi Germany, witnessing the slaughter of innocent Jewish musicians by a vicious SS officer. The Nazi is actually the Devil himself and he is town running a satanic cult of perverse freaks. A Jewish Nazi hunter and some cops try and put a stop to the demons antics, but it ends up being up to the surgeon to try and get the job done. 1980

DARK TOWER (DVD) Francis, Freddie A head architect (American Werewolf in London's Jenny Agutter) is seeing over the the completion of a new skyscraper towering over metropolitan Spain. Things are going well until a window-washer drops twenty-eight stories off the pulley, and lands on the top executive of the building. A security agent with slight psychic abilities (Blood Link's Michael Moriarity) is brought onto the case. As he gets closer to the architect, more people die. An exorcist is brought in to help reveal the real secrets of the dark tower and a battle ensues with the vengeful spirit that lies within the building. The film production had a troubled production history as it was started by Academy Award winning cinematographer Freddie Francis and the directing of the film was by Ken Wiederhorn (Shock Waves). With its effectively creepy synth score and a few unexpected twists, this paranormal thriller is an interesting lark. UNCUT from JAPAN. 1987

DAY OF THE BEAST (DVD) de la Iglesia, Alex A priest finds by means of a cabalistic study of the bible that the anti-christ is going to be born on Christmas day in Madrid. Helped by a heavy-metal fan and by the showman of a TV esoteric program, he will try to invoke the devil to find out the place of birth and kill the baby. Amazing dark comedy directed by Álex de la Iglesia (Accion Mutante). Letterboxed, In Spanish with English Subtitles. 1995

DEVIL'S DAUGHTER, THE (DVD) Soavi, Michele An omnious legion of the doomed are determined to enslave the human race. The ruthless leader of the homocidal minions seek to corrupt a school teacher who unknowingly aids the Devil's diciple in his sinister mission. Directed by Michele Soavi and produced by Dario Argento. Also known as The Sect. 1990

DIAL: HELP (DVD) Deodato, Ruggero A model has just ended an affair and she keeps expecting her architect lover to call her back. Every time the phone rings though, all she gets is static accompanied by voices from the beyond. She befriends her neighbor who is an authority on paranormal activity and he explains that the negative energy which is unleashed during conversations can manifest itself into a deadly force. Insanity ensues as the terrorizing telephones begin stalking her around the city and killing everyone crossing her path by strangling to lethal coin spitting. Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust) directs this hilariously bizarre story which features Charolette Lewis as the model and a score by Claudio (Goblin) Simonetti. Also known as Minaccia D'Amore. GHOSTHOUSE (DVD) Lenzi, Umberto Ghosthouse is a chilling tale with twists, turns, and plenty of messy gore frights to make you jump out of your seat. A radio junkie and his girlfriend investigate transmissions from a mysterious house and are helped by four campers spending the weekend on the estate. Soon visions of a deceased girl and her evil clown doll bring doom to the unwanted visitors who are trespassing in the haunted house. 1987

HIGHWAY TO HELL (DVD) de Jong, Ate A young couple have plans of eloping and heading to Las Vegas for a secret wedding. To save some time they decide to follow a remote desert dirt road while following the advice of the the local gas station owner. When the groom-to-be ends up falling asleep at the wheel, he is quickly pulled over by the fiendish Hell Cop who arrests his fiance and takes her down to hell. With only 24 hours left before the Devil has her soul for eternity, our hero must race into the unexpected world of the living dead, deal with its inhabitants, and win back his girl. This wildly eccentric horror-comedy-adventure has an equal bizarre cast and features Richard Farnsworth (A Straight Story), Gilbert Gottfried as Hitiler, and a young Ben Stiller along with the rest of his family. 1991

HORROR SHOW, THE (DVD) Isaac, James Detective Lucas (Lance Henriksen) finally apprehends the notorious psychopathic killer "Meat Cleaver Max" (Brion James) who has murdered over 110 people with his tool of choice. Still haunted by the night of his capture, Lucas has reoccurring nightmares and decides to attend the execution to hopefully put an end to his sleepless nights. The electrocution doesn’t kill Max so easily though and he vows to tear the detective’s world apart. Killing Max Jenke only elevated him to another level of reality. Now the killer’s evil spirit is haunting the detective’s house, attacking his family, and making the detective question his own sanity. Aided by a disreputable college professor, can Lucas reclaim his house, family and mind? UNCUT from JAPAN 1989

HOT SEAT (DVD) Korzeniowsky, Waldemar An idealistic psychologist and his assistant re-open a dilapidated prison to hopefully change the mindset of some hardened criminals. The warden thinks very little of the doctors program, but when he begins to experience haunting visions from the prison's past, he thinks he might need some therapy himself. With the ghost of an electrocuted security guard now on the loose and seeking revenge, the prisoners break into fear with the strange events happening around them. Even with the warden now a believer, the doctor and his assistant have their hands full trying to convince everyone that the supernatural is all in their head. Industrial filmmaker husband and wife team has Waldermar Korzenioswsky directing and Carolyn Swartz writing and editing this bizarre film with that seems to more than borrow from elements of Renny Harlin's PRISON.
